TE KUITI RACING CLUB.

As ;i result of enquiries made by Major Lusk, when in Auckland last week, on behalf of the club, it has been ascertained tbat it will be necessary to bold a race meeting Ibis season, in order to keep (be license of the club from lapsing. 'The matter rests entirely with the Racing (Conference, and regulations have been passed by them dealing with the matter of country meetings. All that can be done by the Auckland Racing Club is the passing of the program me. In view of the opinions expressed l>.v those j)resent at the recent meeting, held at Tc Kuiti, sleps will probably be taken to organise a small race meeting, at an early date. The object, is to encourage the sport broadly, and to induce the support of all in the district. There is every probability that no further licenses will be granted to country clubs, and if a. day's racing is to be indulged in, duuj™ ing (he year, the present opportunity! will have to be embraced. Tc Kuiti is the natural centre of a very large district, and there is no doubt that a properly organised club, would eventually receive a great amount of support. A nieelin;;' of all those interested, is to be held at Tc Kuiti, on April Jslh, for the purpose of finally deciding upon what steps are to be taken in the mutter.
