MANIAPOTO TUWHARETOA LM STRICT MAORI LAND BOARD.
A sitting of the District Maori Land Board was opened at Te Kuiti on March 14th, snd a lirge amount of business was dealt with. Leases of Native lands t) th? numb;r of fortysix wer passed, the total area affected being about 19,000 acres. The removal of restrictions for the purpose of selling was recommended in the case of three small blocks with an aggregate area of 478 acres. The application of the Tongariro Timber Company, for portions of Whangaipeke and other Taupo blocks for lease, was recommended.
