ARIA.

A meeting of settlers was held in Ratima's shop on the 16th ' inst., to discuss matters in connection with the proposed dairy factory here. Previous to this the district had been canvassed to ascertain -the number of cows that could be brought forward to contribLUc to the supply of milk. It is to be regretted that the total number guaranteed was considerably under that which was necessary. to warrant the immediate erection of a factory. A committee was formed, and given the necessary power to negotiate in matters, financial and otherwise; so that no delay will be occasioned when the district is sufficiently advanced.
