THE NATIVE DOCTOR.

TO TIIK KDITOK. Sir, Might I :isk, " What has become of the Native doctor?" Of course I know lie is alive, but why on earth does he not make a periodical visit to these parts. Are we not as good as the Natives in other districts? During the last few months there has been a considerable amount of sick ness amongst my brother Maoris, and although we have a (iovernment Native Dispenser amongst us, 1, lor one, think Dr I'omare should make an effort to visit the different " Kaiaugas" in the King Country and impart a certain amount of his knowledge to his fellow men. I think, if I remember rightly, thai the doctor, since his appointment, has been here twice, and then he only attended Maori meetings. There is still sickness amongst the Natives, and 1 think it is high time that he (the doctor) nave us a call, and if we are not looking after ourselves in a proper manner, explain to us the wrong ways we are walking in, and so assist us to lead a more healthy life. Thanking you for the space 1 have taken. 1 am, etc., MAORI. Oparure, 16/1/07.
