It is reported locally that Mr Jennings will not stand for the Taumarunui electorate at the next general election, and the names of several King Country residents have already been mentioned as likely to contest the seat. Among those most freely mentioned are W. W. McCardle, of Kawhia, C. J. Ryan, of Taumarunui T. Pine and W. Baucke. of Te Kuiti.
