THE WAIKATO HOSPITAL.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I wish to acknowledge through your columns, rn behalf of the Waikato H-:-] ;(.;•'Xmas Fund, the sum of £5 5s received from Messrs Gould and Beale (Raurimu), Vaile (Oio), and the King Country Chronicle. The subscribers numbered 106. The 55 patients in the hospital each found a parcel by their bedsides on 'Xmas morning, containing all sorts of useful articles, and aicardof good wishes. The funds also!provided a 20lb 'Xmas cake, as well as strawberries from Auckland, for the 'Xmas tea. A sacred concert was got up by Rev. E. Adams assisted by members of his church, which was much appreciated, by those who were able to be present. So the clay was made as bright and happy as possible, and the exertions of Dr Douglas, the matron and their willing staff, will long be remembered by all who were inmates of our hospital. Hoping that many who assisted the cause, will read this, I am, yours truly, ALICE GRAHAM. Hamilton, 31/12/06.
