TE KUITI POLICE COURT.
Friday, November 23RD. (Before Mr J. Tammadge, J.P.) Frank Kearns was charged with being drunk and using violence in a railway carriage between Otorohanga and Te Kuiti, and with the theft of a quantity of photographic material the property of A. G. Tibbutt. Accused pleaded guilty and asked for leniency, attributing his offence to drink. On the first two charges Kearns was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. With regard to the charge of theft the presiding Justice said that accused had probably not intended to steal but he had pleaded guilty and would be sentenced to a month's imprisonment on the charge, the sentence to run concurrently with the other term.
