MUCH DAM AGE DONEParis, Nov. 2. By a terrific storm in the Riviera the promenades at Nice and Cannes were destroyed. Mi'James Gordon Benne.tt’s yacht Lyistratc was wreckedatCannes and theshippiug at Toulon suffered greatly. The battleship Patrie and the frigate La Guerriere broke adrift, and were secured with great difficulty. The coast is strewn with wrecktidal waveca usee I _• tea t da ma ge at the Hyeres Islands. The storm wrecked nineteen miles of promenades along the Riviera Coast, doing damage to the extent of a million pounds. During the height of the storm a number of submarine vessels dived and remained below the surface of the water until the worst was over. Although fourhumlred fishing vessels were lost, there were few casualties.
