Sydney, Oct. 8. Sensational developments areexpected in consequence of the jury’s findings in Norton’s case. The Attorney-General is now perusing the depositions of the -witnesses at the trial. Haynes contemplates taking steps independently of any action taken by the Crown. Grohn’s body has been exhumed. The authorities are very reticent, but it is understood that the examination disclosed no fracture of the scull. The Gaming Bill receives the Governor’s assent and the Act will come into immediate operation. Newspapers in future will not be allowed to publish adds on horse races. Brisbane, Oct. 8. The Premier states that there is a strong anti-Federal feeling in Queensland, which can only be allayed by making the financial position of the State more secure. Perth, Oct. 9. The State 'Treasurer declares that the secession movement is sincere. Melbourne, Oct. 8. The Inter-State conference of Premiers hopes to-day to discuss the financial relations of the Commonwealth States.
