Recent Earthquakes.
ORIGIN LOCATEDNew York. Oct. 5. The recording instruments at Washington locate the oiTt-in of Tuesday’s earthquake in th< Indian Ocean westward of Australia. Lon dux. O> t. 5. Milne’s observatory, in the Isle of Wight, recorded a severe earthquake .shortly after two o'clock on Tuesday morning, lastiriir two hours. The shock was less vjph'Ut than those experienced at San Francisco and Valparaiso.
