Capetown, Feb 11 Chinese Labour .ordinance read third time in Transvaal Legislative Council and passed. London, Feb 11 Large meeting held in Queen’s Hall to protest against importation of Chinese labour into Transvaal, Lord Carrington presiding. Sir W. Harcourt, in apologising for his absence, wrote a long letter protesting against the establishment of serfdom in the Transvaal. Sir T. E. Britton moved the motion protesting against importation of Chinese without the formal consent of the people of the Colony.
