Wakatu for Lyttel ton. The Cygnet is expected, from Lyttelton tomorrow, and is to leave again at 10 a.in. The Wakatu is expected on Monday from Lyttelton, to which port she returns direct, we understand. Kaikoura was converted into a. coaling station by the steamer Aotea, 90 tons, on Wednesday. She left Maud Island, Pelorous Sound, on Tuesday afternoon Apr Lyttelton, with 650 sheep for Mr TosswilL When nearly off Anniri Bluff, shortly before daylight on Wednesday, a strong Souther was experienced. Fearing that it was likely to prove a •“ muzzier,” and being short of fuel, Capt. Tinney decided to put back to Kaikoura and replenish his stock of coal. This he was readily able to do, as on coming in to the wharf (Mr Hodgeman acting as pilot) Mr Goodall’s yard was sought and some good Westport coal obtained therefrom. The Aotea then proceeded on her voyage. She has, for her size, a large cargo carrying capacity, and steams fairly well. E R LICENSING DISTRICT OF HURUNUI.
