SOUDANESE EXPEDITION. KHALIFA CONCENTRATING FORCES. REBELLION IN CHINA. CRUELTY TO CHILDREN. CAIRO, July 27 The Khalifa has announced he will personally lead his army against the Anglo-Egyptian expedition. Khalifa’s army is concentrating at Omdurman and Kerren. SHANGHAI, July 27 Rebels in the province of Kwangsi, southern China, number 40,000. They declare they intend to overthrow Mandarin influences. SYDNEY, July 27 Under Children’s Protection Act, woman named Suggate was charged with failing to provide adequate and proper food for 4 children, whose ages ranged from 10 years to one year, who had been placed in her care. Officer of Department deposed that children were half starved and insufficiently clothed.
