MEMORIALS.
A memorial to late Sir Harry Atkinson has been placed in the Karori Cometery, Wellington, at the instance of his friends who sat with him in Parliament. It is in the form of a large granite cross, enclosed in low stone and granite walls of suitable design. The cross, together with the steps upon which it stands, measures about ten feet in height.
The Ballance Memorial Committee lias arranged to alter the design of the Ballance Memorial, so that its leading feature shall be a statue of the late Premier. This is in accordance with the expressed wish of Parliament last session. The memorial, which will be about sixteen feet high, with a diameter at the base of seven foot, will be erected within the Parliamentary grounds.
