A Southland farmer has been fined £6 for failing to provide reasonable accommodation for four shearers in his service. Christchurch : Shooting on Honorary Reserve Corps’ range at Cashmere, J. R. Wakelin scored 101, at 500, 600, and 700 yards, out of possible 105, range totals being respectively 34, 33, and 34. This is world’s record for those ranges, previous best score being 100, made in 1860 by Lieut. J. H. Eales, of Victoria. Rifle used was WebleyMartini, and ammunition was manufactured for N. Z. Govt by the Colunial Ammunition Coy.
