LONDON, Nov 9
In speech at Birthday banquet at Guildhall, Rosebery said skv was not entirely clear owing to war in East, but barometer was not falling. British Govt were prepared to join in any pacific effort to restore peace. England, he said, had acted throughout hand in hand with Russia. Relations between two countries were never more cordial than at present. Rosebery said rumors that New Zealand desired to administer affairs of Samoa were too ridiculous for official contradiction, but such statements appearing in newspapers aroused suspicion which were impossible for any diplomatic assurances to remove. Trust of million and half being established to take over balance of Bearing’s estate.
SHANGHAI, Nov 19
