Addington Market.
CHRISTCHURCH, July 5 Messbs Pyne & Co report on Wednesday’s market as follows : There was a small market at Addington yesterday, causing prices to harden considerably in all classes of stock. Prime crossbred wethers and maiden ewes made from 14s to 15s 6d, and up to 16s 6d for extra heavy weights. Prime freezing sheep went 14s to 15s, and 13s to 13s 6d for lighter weights. Best crossbred ewes made from 12s to 14s 7d, and up to 15s 6d for a really prime lot. Merino wethers made from 7s to 9s Bd, and good merino ewes up to 8s 4d. Store sheep —Good hoggets and sheep fit for topping oft' on turnips are eagerly sought after. A nice line of the latter made 12s. Fat cattle. —There was a very small entry, and competition was keen. Best steers made from £9 to £lO ; heifers from £5 : 12 : 6 to £8 ; cows £6 to £9. In store cattle there was a fair entry but little demand.
