Express train ran into B*horse dray, driven by a lad, at Tinwald. Horses were killed and dray smashed, but boy escaped without injury. Train engine disabled. Grosvenor Hotel, Blenheim, destroyed by fire on Sunday. Only about £6O worth of salvage. Insurances total £l6OO. A man has no more right to say an uncivil thing than to act one; no more right to say a really rude thing to another than to knock him down. Happiness in the world, when it comes, comes incidentally. Make it the object of pursuit, and it leads us a wild goose chase, and is never attained. A man is as old as he feels, but not as big. Don’t fancy because you can’t see the sun that there isn’t any. Millions are striving for wealth, thousands for fame, a dozen to be good.
