SYDNEY, April 29 Premier cabled to Premier of N. Z. yesterday in favor of sole protection over Samoa by Britain, in preference to any Colony exercising rights of Sovereign State without the means of enforcing order. German view here, from one qualified to express opinion, is that there is not remotest chance of acceptance of N. Z’s proposal in regard to Samoa, which is entirely at variance with terms of Treaty. LONDON, April 29 Globe referring to attitude of N. S. Wales upon Samoa question, considers it has created an International and Colonial complication which will result in deadlock of first magnitude. BERLIN, April 28 German Colonial Party circulating petitions throughout country in favor of retention of Samoa. It is reported the Emperor is averse to abandoning German interests in the islands. BERLIN, April 30 Inspired article in North German Gazette contends that any protectorate over Samoa other than German is impossible. German Press continues to discuss matter in heated terms.
