§— — Kaikoura Sheep Sale.

Sir, —We forward a preliminary advertisement for insertion id your paper. From it you will gather that We have fixed Friday, March 2nd, as the date of our annual sheep sale at Kaikoura.

We have decided on thia ' date after careful consideration, and trust it will suit the convenience of all who are interested. Au earlier date would not have been advisable, as it would have clashed with other important fixtures further south, and the experience of previous years leads us. to think that a week prior to the annual sale at Culverden is the best time for the Kaikoura fixture.

For the information of our many friends in your district we should like to say that young crossbred sheep (2 and 4 tooths) are none too plentiful in these parts. On the other hand the supply of feed is abundant and the 'turnip crop promises to be quite: the best on record. We therefore think that the demand for young sheep must be A really good one, and we trust that our friends will not be induced to sell their sheep before the sale unless the prices offered are very tempting. They may rest assured that mir utmost efforts will be used to find good buyere, and with fine weathirWe fief sure that the annual Kaikoura sheep which was inaugurated two yeats ago under such successful auspices, will again be a success. We are, &c., '■-<■■!! ' 1 PvKB&Co. Christchurch, January 29, 1894. p - s - —The foregoing remarks must: not be taken to mean that sheep will sell at prices equal to those of last year. What we wish to convey is that there ought to be a firm demand, and prices should 'consequently be better than those now ruling. •
