Lord Dunraven returns to America in May to race the Valkyrie against the big American sloop for the America Cup. Weather has done serious injury to crops, both in N. and S. Canterbury. Stephens’ Island light now illuminates Cook’s Strait waters. A terribly tough struggle took place in Sydney on Friday between the police and a band of burglars, the latter having raided the Union Company’s Office, but without getting any cash. Four constables were seriously injured, and had to be taken to the hospital. Three burglars were arrested.
