RACING.
AUCKLAND, Dec 28 Merganser has been scratched for all remaining engagements at the A.R.C. Summer Aleeting. After the victory of St Hippo in the Cup on Boxing Day, the owner of the horse, MrL. D. Nathan, and bis brother Alfred Natban, gave the Alayor of Auckland £25 towards the purchase of a large painting by Steele, of the late J. T. McKelvie, intended to be placed in the Art Gallery.
