Foley’s Entertainments.

Great Success : Delighted Audiences.

Two More Performances.

Mr J. D. Foley came to Kaikoura with a very high reputation as a public entertainer, and admirably has he sustained his name and fame as such. On Wednesday evening he opened here to a far better attendance than we anticipated, the night being wet and very dark. Mr Foley went through a lengthy and varied programme in a highly artistic manner, having the audience with him the whole time. So well did he please his patrons that many of them went a second time, and last night he was greeted with a crowded house, which was kept either amused or entertained for over two hours and a quarter. Round afier round of applause, or roar after roar of laughter marked the sense of apprecia tion in which the several items were received. A better all round and more versatile entertainer we have never had here, and we hope that Mr Foley will have a couple more good houses, for he deserves them. He gives a complete change of programme tonight. To give details of Mr Foley’s entertainment is unnecessary. Each and everv item on the programme is distinctive ; the various representations are faithfully portrayed; there is a true and marked change in each sue ceeding turn of *• Life's Looking Glass,” as presented by Mr Foley ; and there is wit with vulgarity. Miss Kenny very ably assisted Mr Foley in the musical portion of the programme, the audience according her efforts warm marks of approbation.
