Resolutions were passed denouncing the present Queensland Governm"nt for its tyrannical acts against the Chinese, and fully on* | doraing the " Vasal o id's " telegrams as |to Chinese immigration being indisI pensable to settlement in this tropical climate. Groins were given for." Ibef " Queensland^ " and the Queensland; Ministry. — The cutter Lulia has arrived at Cairn* from a cruise round the South Seas. From the Solomon Islands she went to the north-west eoist of New Guinea, and having prospeotod there got a larno qnantity of curios. Ono mnn got a splendid specimen of gold • hearing quartz The Lplia took as a passenger ono of the chiefs of Npw Guinea, who proceeds nn to Melbourne. The news c f the gold finding has created some excitement here.
