Notice is hereby given ii» accordance with the vote of the Council, that plans and proposal:* ios each an apparatus will be received for consideration, up till the first day of August next ensuing. The following particulars are published for the information of intended esjibitor? of plans. The plans and proposals will bo submitted to a bpdy of judges, Gompose.d of experienced miners, aud such other persons as his Honor the Superintendent may appoint, and in considering them the following points will be kept in yie»y : — ,1. The cost of the apparatus as it appears on the pluu, and its probable cout and tear and wear. , 2. The readiness with which it eun be secured in, any part of a tail race, and be removed from onu part to another und again secured. ■3. Its adaptability to the different widths and falls pf tail races used in different districts 5 tp the varying quantities of^ water used either by cljoice 6v necessity for flushing the Bame ; and to the different kinds pf washdirt from which gold is ot tamed in th,e Province. Inventors are expected to be conversant with the machines and methods at present in use, and not to V#er simple reproductions of the same. They are also expected not to offer reproductions of machines or methods which have fallen into disuse. They can obtain practical information on these and other points, by application through the post to the Central Mining Association at Naseby. If, in tho opinion of the judges appointed any plan shall appear to be wovthy of adoption by the miners in the Province, tho Government undertakes to furnish copies of the same to each of the .. Mining Associations in the Province with full instructions as to inventions of the inventors, and the payment of the bonus will then be determined in the following manner, payment' being due withiu eight months from the date at -which the copies of the plans and instructions have been issued to the various Mining Associations.
