NIL DESPERANDUM.
The cross-cut referred to last week has been taken through some twelve or fourteen feet of a very hard formation, but a change of country has this week been met with of such form as to justify the belief that stone ia near at hand. In about fourteen feet further than the present face the reef is expected to be struck.
