A trac^e demonstration, in the form of an open-air meeting and procession, is being got up to strengthen the hands of the members who are moving in the matter of preventing the importation of manufactured ma.terial by the Government. All the trades are to take part in the demonstration Wellington. At the Hutfc, yesterday, Frederick Grilling committed a rapo on a little girl, ten years of age, while she was coming home from school. He was committed for. trial. At Bulls, to-day, "William Taylor, of Wellington, was committed for trial, 1 charged with indecent assault on his two j daughters, aged respectively nine and eleyen years. About three years ago the same man was convicted of laying poisoned vegetables, with the intention of poisoning his neighbors. A Gazette issued to-day notifies an alteration of the date of the sittings of current Courts of Nelson and Hokitilca, as follows; In Nelson,, the District Court to sit at Nelson, on the first Monday in October ; and in the VVestland district, at Hokitika on th,e third Monday in September. , We&tpo,bt.
