TO GET KID OF STUMPS.

There have been many foolish things said and printed about saturating stumps with oil or saltpetre, to cause them to burn out, or to set a length of stove pipe on the stump to make a draft so as to consume it. All these plans are useless and would fail. The praotical methods are :— To wait until they rot, pull them out with a stump-puller, to dig them out, or to blast them out. The last method is quickest and cheapest. — Exchange.
