" ■■•% '^ J THE Provincial Council 'of Otago being dAßirous -t pf stimulating invention, and securliig the use of gold saving apparatus in connection with hydraulic mining adapted to Hhe purpose of extracting gold from auriferous earth; moro completely than any of tho machines or methods at present in use, has [Voted the stihi of £250, to be ofiered as a bbniis for tho'inventionof such an apparatus, sjibjoPt to such competition .and regulations a. his Honor the Superintendent may seem fit. ■•* ;' ' '■<■ ' t * * ' • Notice is hereby given- in accordance with ..the vote of the Counoil, that plans and proposals for suoh an apparatus will be received for consideration, up till the first day . of August next ensuing. ITbe, following partioulars are published for tlie information of intended exuibitore of plans. The plans and proposals will bo submitted to a' body.- of judges, composed of 'experienced minors, and such other persons as his Honor the Superintendent may appoint, and in considering them tho following points will be kept in view : — ' ■'• 1. The cost of the apparatus as it appears on the plan, and itsprobable cpst and tear and weaft , ;■■■• ■ .2.
