Friday la?t was the day appointed by the Koad Board for the Closing of tenders : for the various works authdriscd . Ala rge : number of tenders had bcon scut in, as the subjoined list will show, and the various parties attended to awuit iho result. Tho meoting of the Board being merely a tender Committee, tho pro* ceedings wore conducted with closed doors, bnt in the evening the result of tho Committee's deliberations was posted outside . the building.
