Wood stated that Dr Coilis BhoWNB was undoubtedly the inventor of "CHLORODYNE j" that the story of the defendant Freeman being the inventor wag deliberately untrue, which he regretted bad been sworn to. Eminent Hospital Physicians of London stated that Dr J. Coius BaowKE was the discoverer of Chlorodyne ; that they prescribed it largely, and nieau no Other than Dr Bhowjje's.— See Times, of July 12, 1864 The Public, therefore, are cautioned against using any other than Db J. Corn-is! Bbowe's Chmridthe. BEMEDIAL USES AND ACTION. This INVALUABLE REMEDY produces quiet refreshing sleep, relieves pain, calms the system, restores the deranged functions, and stimulates healthy action of the secretions of the body, without creating any of those unpleasant results attending the use of opium. Montgomery, Esq., late Inspector of Hospitals, 4 Bombay : "Chlorodyne is a most valuable remedp in Neuralgia, Asthma, and Dysentery. To it I fairly owe my restoration to health, after eighteen months' severe suffennf, and when all other remedies hadfailed." Dr. Lowe, Medical Missionary in India, reports (December, 1865) :•—•• That in nearly every case of Cholera in which Dr. J. Cotua Bbowne's Chlorodyne was administered, the patient recoeieJ." Extract from the Medical Times, January 12, 1866 :— "Clorodyne is prescribed by scores [ of orthodox medical practitioners. Of course, it would not thus be singularly popular, did 1 t not * supply a want and nil a place.' " 1 Extract from the General Board of Health, ' London, as to ite efficacy in Choleia:— "So ' sttongly convinced are we of the immense 1 value of this remedy, that we cannot too for--1 cibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all cases." Beware of spurious and dangerous compounds sold as "Ohlorodyne," from which [ frequent fatal results have followed. See leading article, Parmaceutical Journal, Ist August, 1869, which states that Dr. J.
