MURRAY CREEK.

[fsom oub mining bepobteb.] ENERGETIC. Wednesday, April 18. The whole of the works from the main tunnel to the uppermost level denote a rery satisfactory condition of affairs, and the general prospects of the mine are con* siderably better now than they have been for some time past. On the main level the trial shaft has been taken down over forty feet, disclosing a lode of a very superior quality, the gold being so freely, and equally distributed in every piece of stone broken therefrom that the poorest of it is pronounced as ounce stone. The thickness of stone being taken oat in sinking is seven feet, with stone still left on the hanging wall denoting a lode of no mean dimensions. In the stope above, the reef has suddenly thrown over on to the opposite angle, and presents a fine show of gold in this particular part of the reef, in fact the workings have recently disclosed the existence of a much larger quantity of stone than was anticipated. On the upper level a body of stone somewhat broken in formation has been intersected, which is to all appearance a continuation, of the Wealth of Nations surface reef. Some seven feet of stone of this description has already been passed through, and after crossing a narrow bar quartz, has been agiin made in the face. It is quite possible that a very large quantity of stone will yet be obtained irom this part of the mine. Olher works of a prospecting; nature are

Iso going on in the middle level. The general appearance of the mine is most favorable, and shares have greatly ad« vanced during the last fortnight.
