[to the edjtob. inangah^a times.] Sir, — 1> observe, our amateurs hare oDce more donned, the manjtle of Charity, and I sincerely trust that their very laudable cffovts wjll be seconded unanimously by the public, I think, however, Sir, that as the long nights are now com* ing on, something should, be done to arrange a course of winter evening entertainments after the fashion of " Penpy Headings." Sur,ely we have in our mid3t talent, enough if the opportunity were only given for ifes display. They arrange these things very well in other places, and there is no reason why we, should be behindhand. A charge of say, oneshilling would cover all costs, and leave a margin for the hospital or some other deserving charity. Hoping to see some one take the matter in hand, I am, &c, " Melancholy."
