Caption.— Vice-Chancellor Sir W.P. Wood stated that Dr Collis Browne was undoubtedly tho inventor of "CHLORODYNE ," that the story of the defendant Freeman being the inventor was deliberately untrue, which lie regretted bad been sworn to. Eminent Hospital Physicians of London stated that Dr J. Co_HB Bbownb was the discoverer of Chlorodyne; that they prescribe! it. largely, and mean no other than Dr Brown b's.— See Timvs, of July 12, 1864 The Public, therefore, are cautioned against using any other than Da J. Dr. Lowe, Medical Missionary in India, reports (December, 1865; : — ■* That in nearly every caso of Cholera iv which Dr. J. Colitis Browne's Chlorodyne wai administered, the patient recoverel." Extract from the Medical Times, January 12, 1866 : — "Clorodyne is prescribed by scores of orthodox medical practitioners. Of course, jt would not thus be singularly popular, did t not ' supply a want and fill a place' " Extract from the General Board of Health, . London, as to its efficacy in Choleia:— "So stiongly convinced are we of the immense value of this remedy, that we cannot too forcibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all cases." Beware of spurious and dangerous compounds sold as "Chlorodyne," from which Irequent fatal results have followed.
