GOLDEN FLEECE EXTENDED.

From week to week tbe whole of the. works both pn the surface, and underground proceed with the ntmost regularity, and the principle upon which tbe entire operations are carried on is so thoroughly complete tbat little or no room is afforded for comment. It may therefore, be briefly stated tbat the. mine maintains a most favorable aspect and, warrants the expectation of a continuance of the brilliant success which bas attended the development of this claim during the last few months. In the month of, August last crushing operations were commenced by what is now known as the Golden Fleece Extended Company, being &he old AJ9X and Golden Fleece claims amalgamated. When tbe battery was put in action tbe company's liabilities were over £5000, and in the remarkably ,'shprt space of seven months tbe above mentioned, debt^ has been liquidated, and divi* dends to tho amount of nearly £21,000 have been disbursed, to shareholder-?. The proceeds of the. last four weeks' crushing has enabled adtvidend of ls3d per share on 48,000jshares to be. declared. A ve^ y large portion of liv.' sto c crushed during the. past month. came from^No. 5 level on the old A'tfx block, which at the present times carries a fine lode 4/t thick. The mine looks exceedingly, well, with every likelihood of tho battery being constantly occupied for a considerable period. An, n.enious* cons: ruction originating from Mr Kilgour of Greymouth for gold saving purposes bas been erected lately, and from, a rery primitive test of its efficiency has to a certain extent proved successful, but I will deler further, remarks until a more lengthened trial has taken place.
