OUR MINES.

MUBRAY CREEK. [tf&OM OUR MINING REPOUTEK.] KEEP IT DAIiK. Wednesday, April 11. Since the general cleaning up of the last crushing took place shares have been bold firm at six shillings, and indeed the general aspect of the mine continues so favorable that it is almost surprising they are not quoted at a figure considerably higher, than the price abovo mentioned. The, operations on the main level during the last month have disclosed a body of payable quartz fully ten fee? th>ick, and which has not cipher in form or dimensions altered for tbe whole distance upon which the lode has been driven, having now been carried, for 55ft past the point where the two bodies of stone junctions. The face at the present time is now about ip a line, with tho end of /-hh^ block first driven on the othe? ibtahch, and presenting as it does such, anally splendid body of stone and bearing more of a north and south course. iß is considered, to be the main lode, and the block which is being stoped out may be.set down as a spur or offshoot similar in formation to the Wealth of Nations big east reef. The solidity and form of the lode gives every promise of continuing for a considerable distance, and should the same be proved to exist in its present form for only another _pit or 50ft it must really be admitted that the discovery of so valuable a block of payable stone in a mine, where four years' previous work had given no actual return for the capital invested, as the most important item that, has occurred in connection witb mining matters in tbis part of the district for many months. I learn to-day from the machine house that the plates promise an improved yield, and although nothing of exceptional richness may be anticipated* a continuance of present affairs will, nevertheless in a very short time command a prominent position for this mine among the successful enterprises of the field.
