Wb highly commend the promptitude with which Mr MPetb, tbe post master at Greymouth, has acted ii reference to the complaint urged it our columns on Monday last, anent tb< Reefton and Greymouth mail service We on Saturday last received a notification from Mr Bull, postmaster. Beefton, stating that the hour of closing the down mail to Greymouth had beet extended from 10 p.m to 7 a.m. W( are sure this prompt oonc epsion by the postal authorities will meet with the warmest approval of tbe residents here, It need hardly be repeated that the old arrangement was a highly inconvenient one to business men, for verj often tbe lapse of a few minutes, oi the irregularity of local time, has given rhe to a large amount of inconvenience. Under the altered arrangement there will be ample time for corres. pondence, and tbe convenience of al parties will be met. It may impose some little hardship upon tbe mai contractors, but as the County Council is bent upon tbe completion at the earliest possible date of the unmade portion of the Grey road, the inconvenience referred to is not likely to be of long duration.
