MURRAY CREEK.
[FBOM OCR MINING BBPOBTEB.] KEEP IT IU2K. Weiwesihy, March 14. The whole ot the works* are being car* ried on with most successful results, and the general aspect of this company's affairs continues to be of a most. promiatße character. Since my last report the main level has been extended a distance of about 18ft, making in all about 23ft from the point where the reef divides into two separate bodies of stone. The branch which has been recently driven on shows a really magnificent lode, carrying fnlly 9f* of a face of clean qnarta. the walls maintaining an excellent formation, ad | with altogether so favorable an appearance that shares have again advanced, and are now held firm at 7s. The shaft ! from the surface has been snnk to the re* quired distance, connecting the rise, and in a few days more the whole' will be tim* bered and in excellent working order. The battery started with 18 head on FrN day morning last, and is now crashing night and day. There is now no doubt that in two or three months from the present time this mine will be added to the list of dividend paying claims of the field, and will yield very satisfactory returns for a considerable period, as there will be nearly 130 ft. backs to work from the present level, and the distance in length remains yet to be ascertained.
GOLDEN" FLEECE EXfESDRD. Independently of tbe bands engaged in procuring the necessary supply of stone for the battery, there are several others employed in making preparations for what is known as the Fleece block on the No 5 level. The trial shaft from No 4 level has been sunk upon this lode for 60ft, hearing tbe same favorable formation and quality as the upper level, and from which shareholders have been so handsomely remunerated during the last four months. The main drive from the old Ajar block is being also earned on, and is bow passing through the blank ground intervening the two loads. There are still about 40ft of backs upon the present level to reach the old Fleece workings, and it is not at all improbable that in stoping out the upper part of this block some indications will be met with showing tbe existence of atone further north, a faot anticipated some time since.
