Wood stated that Dr Coins Bbownb was undoubtedly the inventor of "CHLORODYNE;? that the stc^y of the defendant Freeman being the inventor was deliberately untrue, which he regretted bad been sworn to. Eminent Hospital Physicians of London stated that Dr J. Coxmb Bbowne was the discoverer of Chlorodyne ; that they prescribed it largely, and mean no other than Dr Bhownb[s.— See Times, of July 12, 1864. The Public, therefore, are cautioned against using any other than j Db J. Corns Bbowto's Cheobodtkb. EEMEDUL USES AND ACTION. This INVALUABLE REMEDY produces quiet refreshing sleep, relieves pain, calms the system, restores the deranged functions, and stimulates healthy action of the secretions of the body, without creating any of those unpleasant results attending the use of opium. To it I fairly owe my restoration to health, after eighteen months' severe suffering, and when all other remedies had failed." , Dr. Lowe, Medical Missionary in India, J reports (December, 1865) :— •' That in nearly , every case of Cholera in which Dr. J. C0u.13 Bbownb's Chlorodyne was administered, the . patient recovered." ,_^ . Extraot from the Times, January 12, 1866 :— "Clorodyne is prescribed by scores . of orthodox medical practitioners. Of course, it would not thus be singularly popular, did t not ' supply a want and fill a place.' " ' Extraot from the General Board of Health, } London, as to its efficacy in Choleia :— " So t sttongly convinced are we of the immense } value of this remedy, that we cannot too forcibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all cases." Beware of spurious and dangerous compounds sold as "Chlorodyne," from which t frequent fatal results have followed. See leading article, Parmaceutical Journal, | Ist August, 1869, which states that Dr. J. k Collie Browne was the Inventor of Chlorodyne ; that it is always right to use his preparation when Chlorodyne is ordered.
