Play was resumed at 12.30 to-day. The weather being very fine, and a large attendance. A strong S.W. wind was blowing, and 1 30 p.m. seven of the Canterbury wickets were down for 35 runs. They then had strong hopes of beating the English* men, but at 2 p.m when the adjournment for lunch took place they had only scored 65 for 17 wickets.
