Chbistchttech, Feb27, After a well contested innings the Englishmen were put out for 102, thus leaving Canterbury 108 to get to win. The fielding of the Canterbury men was very good. Play was resumed at 12.30 to-day. The weather being very fine, and a large attendance. A strong S.W. wind was blowing, and 1 30 p.m. seven of the Canterbury wickets were down for 35 runs. They then had strong hopes of beating the English* men, but at 2 p.m when the adjournment for lunch took place they had only scored 65 for 17 wickets.
