Wood stated that Dr Coilis Brownk was undoubtedly the inventor of "CHLORODYNE ;" that the story of the defendant Freeman being the inveator was deliberately untrue, which lie regretted had been sworn to. Emiueut Hospital Physicians of London stated that Dr J. CoLtia iiKOWNE was the discoverer of Chlorodynej that they prescribed it largely, and mean ne other than Dr Bkownk's.— See Times, of July 12, 1864 The Public, therefore, are cautioned against using any other than Bb J. Collis Bbowne's Chiobtotne. BEMEDI4I, USES AND ACTION. Dr. Lowe, Medical Missionary in India, reports (December, 1866J : — •' That in nearly every case of Cholera in which Dr. J. Collis Bbowne's Chlorodyne was administered, the patient recovers X." Extract from the Medical Times, January 12, 1866 : — "Clorodyne i« prescribed by scores of orthodox medical practitioners. Of course, it would not thus be singularly popular, did t not ' supply a want and fill a place.' " Extract from the General Board of Health, London, as to its efficacy in Choieia: — "So stiongly convinced are we of the immense value of this remedy, that we cunnot too for« cibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all cases." Beware of spurious and dangerous compounds sold as "Chlorodyne," from which Irequcnt fatal results have followed.
