Provincial Cquneil of Otfl-go being X desirous of stimulating invention, and securing the use ot gold saving apparatus in connection \vith hydraulic mining adapted to iite purpose of extracting gold from auriferous earth more completely ihau any of the machines or methods ut present in use, has ' voted the sum of £230, to be offered as a bonus fgr the invention of such an apparatus, subject lo such competition and regulation* as his Honor the Superintendent may seem , fit. .Notice h herpby gi»eu iv accordance- with the vote of the Council, that plans and proposals for such uu apparatus will be received for consideration, up till the first day of August next ensuing, The following particulars are published for the information of intended euibitore of plans. The plans and proposals will be eubi mitted to a bpdy of judges, composed of 1 experienced miners, and such other persons as his Honor the Superintendent may appoint, aud in considering them the following points will be kept in view : — 1. The cost of the apparatus as it appears \ on the plan, and its provable co.st and tear and wear. ».
