WHY?
That same old “ Editorial ” that has been hashed up by the two local “ Day-lies ” alternately since the strike began, appears in the evening paper entitled “ Syndicalism and Unionismlt is amusing to watch the frantic efforts of. Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum to convince the workers that their interests will be better served by the old form of Sectional Unionism, and at the same time warning them against the Industrial form of organisation based on class lines. If the old form of organisation is good for the workers, why does not the kept press urge it upon the employers? We notice that the Employers’ Federation is an organisation built on class lines (none but members of the employing class are eligible to membership), and they welcome all such into their ranks, regardless of what branch of industry they are interested in. If the interests ©f Craig, Burns, Gunson, and other members of the Employers’ Association are best served by organising in One Big Union in order to take concerted action in times of industrial disputes, why is it not in the interests of the working class to endorse that form •f organisation also. Why? Don’t all answer at once! US.
