FARMERS GOING BACK.
One of the farmers who came to Auckland has made and signed a statement, which is witnessed by a J.P., and printed in the ‘‘Strike Bulletin.” He says that he and many others came to Auckland to load butter only, and not to do police duty or handle other cargo. They did “ not want tlieir butter to rot, as it is their livelihood, and they came to Auckland for that purpose only.” He says, “I am satisfied that at least 75 per cent, of the farmers wish they were home now.” The statement shows that many honest farmers were deliberately deceived, and that every effort was made to isolate themand prevent any communication with strikers.
