The Holy Ghost is in the I.W.W.
My friend, Fellow-worker By-law, quibbles. At our last discussion he said that as Earth, Air and Sea are used they must have value. I pointed out that values are created by the application of labour power to natural resources, and that to persist in his argument he would have to admit that as God created these ‘ ‘ values ’ ’ he would be obliged to issue an I.W.W. membership card to the Holy Ghost.
By-law promptly asserted that such a card had been issued already, and, pulling an American Labour paper out, confronted me with an item. There in chilly type was the report that God had joined Local 38, Tacoma. Utterly disgruntled, “ I got.”—The Irresponsible.
