WE SHALL BE FREE
(Air: !‘God Save the King.”
By Walker C. Smith.l
Australia, ’tis of you, Home of the Kangaroo, Of you we sing! Why should our strength be spent So that some fools be sent To the Palaverment? A foolish thing!]
Land of the Cap’talist Who holds in either fist The wealth we make. We care not for your laws, Or politicians jaws, We’re fighting for the Cause, For Freedom’s sake.
Defying King on Throne, We’ll make this land our own; We’ll take the soil! The machines too, we’ll seize, Bring tyrants to their knees, Fling Red Flag to the breeze For those who toil!
We ask you now to choose; You have but chains to lose, A world to gain! Joiij with a mighty throng In One Rig Union strong And it will not be long Till toilers reign!
