Agitation against militarism is inseparable from the revolutionary working class movement, and those working Hass papers putting up a light against conscription are to be comincn <j ed. Effecf ive in d u str \a I organisation, however, combined with sabotage, can settle the powers that be when they attempt to use force against the workers.
1 Tes ui na I>l y res {ions ibJ e re \ > reseufalives of the New Zealand Federation of Labour are attempting to make capital out of a crime alleged to have been committed by an J.W.W. member. It is said that this man, a member of the Waterside Workers’ Union, spoke against a levy to support the Waihi miners during the strike, but advocated a strike instead.
Which is the greater sin—to support men on strike financially and “ morally” and scab on Hum by remaining at work, or to go on strike ? The result of the Waihi strike supplies the answer.
The Revolutionary Labour movement in America is criticising itself severely on the question of centralisation and de-centralisation. A similar controversy would do no harm in Australasia. * * # One of the leaders in the present Unity campaign who has sacrificed least—that is. one who has remained most consistent and persistent—is the Professor from Milwaukee. The shrewd Yank is still peddling his rope-Ym-aJI-in-dope. He even wants to know why the I.W.W. doesn’t “ come in!” # * * A healthy, energetic, I.W.W. recruiting local, in every centre in Australasia, would have a beneficial effect on the whole Labour movement in a very short time. A vigorous propaganda directed on to the existing organisations from outside is needed now in each industrial centre.
