The Speaker of the N.S.W. Assembly applied certain Cromwellian (Direct Actionist) methods to the Press. The Aew Zealand Herald thereupon explained that the Press “ has only to agree to abstain from reporting all Parliamentary proceedings . . as would force him to apologise . . or resign his position.” In other words, all the Press had to do, to gain their ends, was to go on strike. Further, the same paper states: “ Some men are only amenable to reason when drastic measures are taken.” We put it to the plug: Is not the capitalist one of the “ some men?”
