Good Officers Officers of the Paeroa and Hauraki' Plains R.S.A. carry out their duties with enthusiasm and though some of them may have hopes of retiring in. favour of youngei’ men they are extremely lucky if their pleas are even listened to at the annual meeting. By quickly nominating acceptable successors two of them succeeded last Saturday evening, but the treasurer did not even get this opportunity for the president dispensed’ with the formality of calling for nominations and- merely asked members to show then* appreciation of the services of Mr D. Vincent. When the applause had eventually died down Mr Edwards mentioned that the treasurer’s great aim was to enrol new members and every year he passed the goal that he set himself.
