MINISTER TO INSPECT
ORCHARD WEST ROAD ' DECISION OF THE COUNCIL A decision to ask the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple when he visits the district in May to inspect Orchard West road was made at the April meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. Mr D. G. McMillan who raised the question stressed the value of the road to the district, pointing out the saving in mileage especially as a route from the Mangatarata quarry. Other councillors agreed on the value of ,the road, the opinion being expressed that the Minister would easily appreciate the value of completing this road.
